About South Gippsland Highway Realignment

The South Gippsland Highway project involves the realignment of a 3.4km section of highway in Koonwarra to avoid several existing low speed curves and steep grades, along with two new bridges and an underpass.

The project is delivered by Major Road Projects Victoria and is designed and constructed by CPB Contractors. Sixense is contracted to provide geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring services for the project.

What we’ve delivered

Sixense has supplied and installed geotechnical sensors, including inclinometers, piezometers and extensometers, to monitor earthwork foundations for the new highway construction.

Due to the remote location of the project, all sensors are automated, with wireless data transfer to Sixense servers.

Geoscope is used to integrate all sensor data, generate reports, and send alarms to stakeholders in case of sensor threshold exceedances.

Project Key figures
